JULY - 2009 - Suny Externships

The Bernstein Center for Visual Performance was named one of only 3 locations for optometric externships by SUNY. The State University of New York - College of Optometry recently announced the appointment.

Dr. Paul Bernstein, a board certified behavioral optometrist who founded The Bernstein Center in 2000, commented:
 

"Since its inception, the Bernstein Center has been deeply committed to providing our community with the very best eye care - Comprehensive Vision Exams to detect and diagnose binocular vision problems - and delivering consistent, high quality vision therapy sessions to our patients to help remediate those vision problems.
 

We are delighted to work with SUNY on their externship programs - the Center will provide optometric students and early practitioners the opportunity to work with our staff to fine-tune their optometric skills with hands-on participation in all aspects of our practice".
 

All externs will be under the supervision of Drs. Ira and Paul Bernstein, both board certified optometrists and fellows of the American Academy of Opticians and The College of Optometrists in Vision Therapy (COVD).
 

The other two sites selected were both in California - making the Bernstein Center the only regional site for the East Coast...
